We’ve been to a lot of great weddings…
...it’s time for us to throw one of our own.

Lodging

We have a discounted rate at the Hilton Checkers in Downtown Los Angeles. Please use the following link if you'd like to book a room:

Other Hotels:

Please note that our wedding is taking place the same weekend as the Academy Awards. Avoid booking hotels in the Hollywood area. Also, because of the awards many of the "cooler" hotels like The Standard and The Ace are not releasing rooms to the public.

We are staying at a small boutique hotel the night of the wedding.  Two of our guests have already booked in this hotel. Currently there are two rooms left.   If you are intetrested...

Airbnb is also a great option. Please contact one of us before booking an airbnb.  We'd like to make sure you aren't staying next to a meth house or a gang enclave.  (LA IS SUPER SAFE!)

Registry

We've been together for six years and the truth is we are covered on kitchen gadgets, sheets, towels and the rest of it. So, we've decided not to register. However, if you would like to give us a wedding gift, we are asking that you donate to our growing wine collection in hopes that one day we will have a cellar. Any alcoholic beverage made from grapes is welcome. Red, white, bubbly, port, dessert wine, cognac, etc.

You can bring the wine to the venue on the day of the ceremony or you can ship it to us at:

3734 Valleybrink Road, Los Angeles, CA 90039.

If you are planning to bring the wine to the ceremony, please write your name on the bottle. When we open it, we want to think of you as we enjoy it, or hopefully, you will join us for a nice meal in our home and we can all drink it together. That is ideal. Thank you.

We have received a few questions about the types of wine we like. Here was Dailyn's response to her friend Elle:

French Burgundy. (white or red, i.e. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir) We like both white and red French Burgundy because you can drink it without food. Not to say that they don't pair well with food. They do. But the reds tend to be light, yet earthy. Easier to drink than Bordeaux. Unlike California Chardonnay which we don't usually like, the French Chardonnay doesn't have any of the buttery or overly oak-y flavors.

French White Bordeaux (i.e. Sauvignon Blanc) Crisp and mineral-y. We drink it all summer, along with rose.

Oregon Pinot Noir. The most similar to French burgundy. Although, they are a little earthier and bigger. We belong to the Adelsheim and Domaine Drouhin wine clubs. That may give you an idea of the kind of Oregon pinots we like.

Alsatian Reisling or Pinot Gris - This is where Todd and I spilt. He can drink some of the sweeter versions of these wines. I can't at all. I like super dry white wine. These whites from Alsace range when it comes to residual sugar. We always have to ask a lot of questions before we buy a bottle. But I'm always happy when it's dry and he's happy when it's sweeter. Todd's grandfather is from Alsace. These wines have a special place in his heart. They drink great with sauerkraut!

For the fifth I am going to give you two choices. Where Todd and I diverge:

Todd loves big Cabs. Either French bordeaux or California (doesn't matter the region). I only really like them after the've aged for many years.

I love weird German, Austrian and Hungarian wines. Specifically Gruner Veltliner (Todd thinks they are too dry) and Blaufränkisch (Todd thinks they sometimes lack complexity) I think the red wines are really interesting and different. An example of a Hungarian Blaufränkisch or Kekfrankos (in Hungarian) would be the Pfneiszl Ujra Egyutt. Easy drinking summer table wine.

However, the truth is we are hoping to get some wines with which we may not be familiar. We don't know a hell of a lot about Spanish or Italian wines. We can kind of pick out ones we've had a few times when we go to restaurants. But by giving you the above wines you can get a sense of our palates, so you may be able to apply that to a different region.
